Open letter to Salto - Toy, managing a.o. the database of quality youth Trainers on behalf of EU institutions

This is an open letter to support the youth trainers in the Salto-Toy Database, to give them please a discussion group/mailing-list and a wiki tool to allow them to communicate with one another and organize themselves, draft a common statement and send it out with the authority invested in them on e.g. moments of despicable violation of Human Rights to Youth.

Salto and the North African New Generation Calls for Democratic

Dear All,

look at this below:

Subject: UNICEF CALLS ON SYRIA TO INVESTIGATE REPORTED KILLINGS OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH
live ammunition ... demonstrators ... left at least 30 children dead.

Come on... we like in THE top database of EU Youth Trainers managed by Salto ?
What are we doing?
These revolutions are also taking place at universities, high-schools, etc.
They deserve help to go talk to these law-enforcement people, not to overshoot their missions: all they have to do is channel the energy, keep law and order ... that doesn't mean to get all personally involved, beat people up nor shoot at them.  Who are they? The president? They have to solve the president's or the gvt's problem? No... otherwise they'd be the president, the ministry of x, with the accompanying salaries, ... and they don't have these salaries and it's not in their contracts.  It certainly doesn't say: solve all problems of this country.  All it says is: help keep law and order.  Order so that eventually old things that have to be improved get improved.  And if that means, people coming on the street and tell a certain people to get lost... just to channel that energy.  Allow these people to come on the streets if need be in a safe way, prevent traffic from being surprised by people walking on streets, preventing vandalism to shops of local little business people ...

We can use our ethical and moral force we can derive from our status of Youth Trainers in the EU database if we want to ... we can also choose to sit and do nothing.

Salto is still not allowing us to be in a discussion group where we can talk to each other if need calls for it.  Salto-Youth Toy: "The sky is the limit". Really?
"The SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres provide practical online tools for your youth work and training". Really?
Well, this is the second time I wrote to all of you.  I need a discussion group. I've reported this several times to salto Tony GEUDENS.
As well as some calls to send out a message on behalf of Salto or the Trainders in the Salto / Toy database on moments of absolutely disgusting and overwhelming cases of non-respect of Human Rights of Youngsters.

What are you going to say to an EU-level comissionar, person working at the EU or something when you meet them at one of your events? "... I'm  a youth trainer from the top EU Youth Trainer database managed by Salto ... and what do I do with all what's going on e.g. in North Africa and their call for liberty there and the youth involved there? And even talking to adults that have to deal with youth there at this moment? ... Ow... I did nothing.  Not even support a letter of support in behalf of all of us.  Let alone get over there... look for a budget and get over there.  Because I'm the best in Youth Training and Youth Strategy Leadership Development that Europe has to offer?
If you don't sink through the floor of shame, these people from the comission will...

So... what are we going to to about this?

Am I the only one that has to write again an email to Salto?  They're simply going to expell me from the database as a dissident... that's all.

Salto gets money because we are in that salto-toy database.  They get money, partially or even for a big part, because of us, thanks to us.  Least they could to is to provide us the tools so we can unleash the forces we have in ourselves... or give us the liberty to do so on their behalf if they don't know how to do it or don't know how to do it.

To me it's simple: I'm supporting youngsters at the Google Summer's of Code and stuff like that.... I'm all for it to set-up a discussion group on groups.google.com
Google started as a youth/university project .. now they just have a whole lot of money to it ... but that basic mentality is still present and can be called upon.  Further I don't know any organization that is throwing that much ICT tools and programs that fast and keeps adding functionalities and integrate all these tools that fast as any other.  Frankly, I hardly see the point in trying to keep up with them.

Looking forward to your reactions.

UNICEF CALLS ON SYRIA TO INVESTIGATE REPORTED KILLINGS OF CHILDREN
New York, May 31 2011  3:10PM
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) today called on the Syrian Government to investigate reports of torture and killing of children and said all parties to the fighting in the Middle East country must “spare civilians, particularly children and women.”

According to media reports casualties among civilians protesting against the government have been high.  UNICEF said it had received, but could not independently confirm, information that the use of live ammunition against demonstrators has reportedly left at least 30 children dead.

“While UNICEF cannot verify the reported cases and events, we are particularly disturbed by the recent video images of children who were arbitrarily detained and suffered torture or ill-treatment during their detention, leading in some cases to their death,” the agency said in a <"http://www.unicef.org/media/media_58707.html">statement.

“We call on the Government to thoroughly investigate these reports and ensure that perpetrators of such horrific acts are identified and brought to justice.”

Stressing that UNICEF calls for immediate efforts by all sides to spare civilians, the agency added that “as party to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Syria has an obligation to ensure children’s right to life, to freedom of expression, to freedom of peaceful assembly, and to protection from violence, exploitation and abuse. These rights must be upheld at all times.”

Last week the UN said it was awaiting a response from the Syrian Government to a request for access for a human rights team to enter the country in June to investigate the recent violence.

The assessment mission, which will be headed by Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights Kyung-wha Kang, is set to begin on 6 June after first visiting neighbouring countries, according to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Rupert Colville, a spokesperson for OHCHR, said last week that the Office remains “deeply concerned” about the situation on the ground, where security forces have clashed with protesters in a number of towns and cities.
